Message from the President

Let me first express my deepest appreciation to all our stakeholders for their continued support of The Bank of Yokohama.

Three years have passed since the Concordia Financial Group was launched through the merger of The Bank of Yokohama and Higashi-Nippon Bank.
Today, changes that greatly impact the structure of society are occurring in our surrounding environment, including severe population decline and lack of workers due to an aging society and fewer children, and astonishingly rapid digitization. We live in an age where our very way as a regional financial institution is being questioned.

In such an environment, we began the new Medium-term Management Plan this fiscal year, and thoroughly reviewed our strengths, " Unrivalled customer base in Kanagawa Pref." and "Efficient management expertise."

In order to take full advantage of these strengths, we are working even closer with the region based on our "district-based division system ", which divides our sales area into two districts (main branch, Tokyo and outside the prefecture) and five regions (East, Central, West, South, Kawasaki). We are also proceeding with our customer-oriented approach, which assists our customers and gains their trust, by providing optimal solutions to our corporate customers in various stages of growth and to our personal customers who are entering the "age of centenarians." In addition, we are continuing to strengthen our consultation capacity at various access points, while working to raise productivity of bank operations through the use of digital technology, with the aim of becoming an even more "convenient bank that our customers can count on."

In December 2020, The Bank of Yokohama will celebrate its100th anniversary since its founding.
At this momentous time, we will continue to be a finance group invaluable to the region that contributes to sustainable development of the regional society for the next 100 years by transforming into a "new finance company beyond the scope of traditional banks.”
