Community-Based Volunteer Activities
Aiming at developing a culture in which employees of the Bank willingly participate in volunteer activities, as a forum to support individual activities, a page exclusively devoted to volunteer activities has been set up on the Bank’s intranet site that provides information and introduces the various experiences of employees.
Environmental Preservation Activities
Officers and employees took part in beach clean-ups organized by local governments, NPOs, companies, etc. in order to raise awareness of how important such clean-ups are for keeping our beaches beautiful. Area and branch staff, meanwhile, helped clean up beaches after they had been used for local festivals and, with the aim of calling attention to the importance of tackling global warming, participated as volunteers in the sprinkling of water on the hot summer ground to cool it
Collection Volunteer Activities
As volunteer activities that employees of the Bank Group can perform in the sphere of their activities, we cooperate in projects involving the Japan Committee for UNICEF, which protects the lives and health of children and mothers in developing countries through donations by collection and sale of used stamps. Through collection of old postcards, we support the “Children’s Forest” Program, a movement for forest building by schoolchildren around the world, which is promoted by OISCA-International.
